TASMANIAN CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL 2021

Dear ticket holder,

This event has been cancelled.

A message from the Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival.

"Thank you so much for all your very considered messages of support regarding the 2021 Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival.

With the continued impact of COVID and border restrictions, together with the fact that all the Festival musicians are from NSW, the Committee has unfortunately decided to cancel the event for yet another year. Prolonging this decision would jeopardise the viability for future festivals.

Our wonderful line up of musicians have pledged to be back playing for you in these great venues in northern Tasmania at the same time next year.

Festival 1: Wednesday 19 – 21 October & Festival 2: Friday 21 – 23 October, 2022

All ticket holders will receive a full refund on their credit card by the end of September. This will happen through the Theatre North Box Office."

You can then contact the Box Office and choose to receive a full refund or keep the money in credit for a future purchase at the Theatre North. 2021 Festival Package

The 2021 Festival will open with an art exhibition and sit-down dinner at the beautifully refurbished Clarendon Arms just across the road from the Falls Pavilion in Evandale.

For our first concert we will welcome Australia’s internationally renowned Goldner String Quartet playing Schubert and Beethoven and a composition especially written for them by a myriad of Australian composers based around Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy”.

I think one of the highlights of each Festival is the opportunity to discover a new part of Northern Tasmania. This year it is the Meander Valley and the beautiful Village of Westbury. Westbury’s three churches will feature performances by percussionist, Claire Edwardes, harpist Genevieve Lang and a fabulous homage to Sculthorpe by the Goldner String Quartet. We will enjoy lunch on the Village Green.

Day 2 we move to the Longford Town Hall for an a capella recital by the Idea of North.

Day 3 we are back in Westbury for a performance of Schubert Lieder with David Greco and Erin Helyard at the Town Hall. This will be followed by a sit- down lunch at the picturesque Culzean Gardens generously hosted by Dinah Fitzgerald and Philip Leith where David and Erin will be in conversation. Die schöne Mullerin will be performed in Festival 1 and Die Winterreise in Festival 2.
