YOUR COVID-SAFE VISIT

Theatre North, as managers of the Princess Theatre and Earl Arts Centre, take our responsibility to public health seriously.

We are closely monitoring the latest advice from Federal, state and local governments and have comprehensive Covid-safe plans, which will evolve as health advice changes.

To make sure you are safe and feel comfortable during your visit with us, we have in place a range of Covid-safety measures.

Our Measures

Reduced Attendance

In line with the state government’s Events Framework, the Princess Theatre currently seats less than 250 patrons. As of Tue 01 Dec 2020, our capacity will increase to up to 50% of seated attendance (472).

Signage indicating capacity is posted throughout the venue.

Physical Distancing

Our current seating plan is in an approved Covid-safe checkerboard format.

As of Tue 01 Dec 2020, seating plans may vary from show to show, and all will be approved by the Department of State Growth.

While we know that there is an expectation that groups may sit together, creating a “bubble” around groups of different sizes may affect the overall number of tickets we are able to sell. For stability in the venue’s capacity, individually spaced seating may still be utilised. We thank you for your understanding.

Staggered Arrival Times & Alternate Entrances

The foyers of the Princess Theatre and Earl Arts Centre are relatively small compared to the venues themselves, with low carrying capacities. For popular shows, staggered arrival times or alternate entrance points may be used to prevent crowding at the entrance to the venue and in the foyers.

We will communicate with you well in advance, should you need to arrive at a particular time or to a different door.

Cleaning & Hygiene

  • more regular, deeper cleans before, during and after events, with frequent sanitisation of high touch-points
  • hand sanitiser is available throughout the venues
  • signage around health and hygiene throughout the buildings
  • masks available on request

Interval & Bar

  • when you attend, please check the in-house screens for information on interval and bar arrangements, as these are organised on a show-by-show basis
  • more flexible ticketing policy, should you not be able to attend due to ill health
  • sneeze guards in place and contactless transactions preferred

Box Office

  • more flexible ticketing policy, should you not be able to attend due to ill health
  • sneeze guards in place and contactless transactions preferred

We ask that you:

  • Please act on the requests of our staff
  • Please do not attend the theatre if you feel unwell or are experiencing any Covid symptoms
  • Please do not attend if you have been requested to self-isolate or have been in contact with someone who is awaiting COVID test results
  • Practise physical distancing whilst in the building
  • Practise good hand hygiene by washing your hands and using hand sanitiser regularly
  • When booking your tickets, please ensure that your contact information is current and correct
  • Once in the auditorium, please remain in your allocated seating
  • Contactless payments are preferred
  • The Princess Theatre and Earl Arts Centre are “face mask friendly” venues. Please don’t hesitate to wear a mask, or request one, should it make you feel more comfortable
