Theatre North, as managers of the Princess Theatre and Earl Arts Centre, take our responsibility to public health seriously.
We are closely monitoring the latest advice from Federal, state and local governments and have comprehensive Covid-safe plans, which will evolve as health advice changes.
To make sure you are safe and feel comfortable during your visit with us, we have in place a range of Covid-safety measures.
Our Measures
Reduced Attendance
In line with the state government’s Events Framework, the Princess Theatre currently seats less than 250 patrons. As of Tue 01 Dec 2020, our capacity will increase to up to 50% of seated attendance (472).
Signage indicating capacity is posted throughout the venue.
Physical Distancing
Our current seating plan is in an approved Covid-safe checkerboard format.
As of Tue 01 Dec 2020, seating plans may vary from show to show, and all will be approved by the Department of State Growth.
While we know that there is an expectation that groups may sit together, creating a “bubble” around groups of different sizes may affect the overall number of tickets we are able to sell. For stability in the venue’s capacity, individually spaced seating may still be utilised. We thank you for your understanding.
Staggered Arrival Times & Alternate Entrances
The foyers of the Princess Theatre and Earl Arts Centre are relatively small compared to the venues themselves, with low carrying capacities. For popular shows, staggered arrival times or alternate entrance points may be used to prevent crowding at the entrance to the venue and in the foyers.
We will communicate with you well in advance, should you need to arrive at a particular time or to a different door.
