Charles Dickens Reads A CHRISTMAS CAROL

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TICKET HOLDERS FOR FRIDAY NIGHT'S PERFORMANCE

Due to flooding in the Earl Arts Centre, sadly the Friday evening performance cannot proceed. We are currently contacting ticket holders to discuss alternative arrangements. Remaining performances are scheduled to proceed as advertised!

Theatre North is delighted to welcome Mr Charles Dickens to our humble Earl Arts Centre to read excerpts of his famous novel: "A Christmas Carol".

Our dear audiences may recall Mr Dickens engaged in a lively discourse at same, early last year. It was enthusiastically received by both Launceston's public and by the critics, although it must be said that the lion's share of the praise went to the outstanding assistance provided by Mr Hammond as producer.

Mr Dickens' visit to the confluence of the Tamar and twin Esks is made possible by the generous arrangements of that notable Launceston thespian, Mr Michael Edgar, who has committed to being in attendance at all performances.

Mr Dickens' novel appears to have all the trappings of a jolly ghost story, enmeshed as it is with themes of charity, giving and general Christmas cheer, in amongst the regular ghouls and fantasies.

We humbly request that patrons do "make the time", as the less reserved corners of the press are wont to say, and give a lively Launceston welcome to Mr Dickens in his latest endeavour.
