"Faith is a pierless bridge" - Emily Dickinson

If poetry asks us to consider the Important Questions, perhaps no questions are more profound than this: What do you believe? Why?

Join Michael Edgar and Cameron Hindrum on an Odyssey for the ages, visiting poems that celebrate, or question, faith and belief in all its many guises. There may even be a little heresy thrown in, for good measure...

"God is the poetry caught in any religion..." - Les Murray

This is the final instalment of Grand Evenings Poetry for 2020, after the full-flight successes of Contemporary Women Poets, Ted & Sylvia and Comic Verse. These ever-popular evenings are now a much-anticipated fixture on Launceston's performance calendar. We look forward to them continuing into 2021!

Why not make an evening of it? The Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston offers a wonderful 2-course meal, post-reading.
