THE GREAT DEBATE

A RAUCOUS NIGHT OF COMEDY AND SONG EXPLORING THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY OF MUSICAL THEATRE

Get ready for a wild, tongue in cheek night of comedy and song, tackling THE big question:

"Is Musical Theatre Art?"

This will be a raucous night of comedy and song, featuring some of the city’s best musical theatre comedians and performers. There will definitely be silliness, there will definitely be bad taste musical theatre puns, and YOU, the audience gets to pick the WINNER!

Join your irrepressible host, Tasmanian actor and entertainer John X, for a riotous, hilarious and occasionally risqué celebration of all things musical theatre!

The YES team:

  • Errol Award winning theatre performer and comedian, Kerri Gay
  • Chilli FM breakfast host, one half of comedy duo Emergency Poncho and childhood Mediterranean sheep herder, Dan Taylor
  • Artistic Director of local professional theatre company Mudlark Theatre, Cheyne Mitchell

The NO team:

  • ABC breakfast radio host and founder and Executive Producer of Encore Theatre, Belinda King
  • Performer, musician, writer of new musicals, and mainlander (gasp!), Bradley McCaw
  • Stand-up comedian and RAW Comedy state finalist, Ned Townsend

PLUS, side-splitting performances from

Denise Sam
John X
Ross Marsden
Chris Bryg
