Damian Callinan
Every hall has a story to tell, and we’ve heard that this one’s got a few cracking chapters.
We’re hosting a series of relaxed drop-in sessions where you’re invited to pop by, have a chat, have a cuppa, spill the tea, and share your memories of the hall. No speeches. No pressure. No microphone unless you grab one yourself.
Got a story about a dance that went off the rails? A meeting that changed everything? A character who always sat in the same seat? We want it.
Photos? Yes please. Old programs, newspaper clippings, trophies, costumes, mysterious hall paraphernalia found in the back of a cupboard? Absolutely. Bring the lot.
Stay five minutes or a little longer. Linger. Reminisce. Correct someone else’s version of events.
Can’t make it in person? Send your stories by email or good old-fashioned letter. We’ll happily read every word.
Because here’s the thing — every hall has a story to tell, and Damian Callinan is very happy to eavesdrop.
So drop in.
Have a chat.
Have a cuppa.
Spill the tea.
We’re all ears.
A night of comedy & storytelling celebrating the quirks, traditions & characters of rural Australian halls and meeting places.
After spilling the tea, don’t forget to join us on Saturday, 02 May, as Damian delves into the history and characters of the Albert Hall, the role that it and Halls across Australia play in the broader community.
