DARE Collective
A dramatised reading of MEAT EATERS by Lewis Treston
Written by 2016 Patrick White Award-winning Australian playwright Lewis Treston, Meat Eaters is a fluorescent and disturbed comedy about cruelty. This bizarre account of a small team of ecommerce retailers struggling to sell their range of pet supplies on their PAWS website, tackles a full kennel of hairy questions, including: the ethics of eating meat, the dark side of human nature and the hypocrisy and struggle that sometimes comes with accepting those we love. It’s a cerebral, surreal and sometimes simply silly comedy that tickles your funny bone before slugging a hammer into your rib cage.
MEAT EATERS was first developed through Sydney Theatre Company's Rough Draft program and made its world premiere at NIDA in 2019. DARE Collective brings it to Launceston audiences, with a frenetic, fun and chaotic “Dramatized” play reading.
