Princess Theatre, Launceston
60 minutes
Please note this event is in the Princess Theatre Upstairs Foyer.
Join us for a fascinating evening, as we go into Conversation with Launceston playwright, poet and actor, Dr Cameron Hindrum.
Cameron has been active in local theatre in Launceston since his University days, an unmentionable number of years ago now. He has performed in shows such as My Fair Lady, Alice in Wonderland, Into the Woods, Amadeus, Calendar Girls, Spamalot, Disclosed, 1984, Jingled and Of Mice and Men, for which he was recently nominated in the category of Outstanding Leading Performance in Community Theatre at the Tasmanian Theatre Awards.
He has also written three plays, two of which—I Am A Lake and 101—have been produced professionally and performed at venues around Tasmania. The third, 1962 will hopefully be performed by the Hobart Rep in 2023, and a fourth will be developed with the Cowshed Program in conjunction with Blue Cow Theatre this year. He hopes also to work with IO Performance this year in developing some new work.
Cameron is currently President of Three River Theatre’s committee and regularly involved in Mudlark’s annual One Day project. He has also had the innate pleasure of presenting Grand Poetry Evenings with Michael Edgar since 2019, following on from his tenure as Director of the annual Tasmanian Poetry Festival from 2003 - 2019.
