For this program we have chosen to explore the impressionistic spirit. All the works selected actively paint a picture: Mungala and Bamboo Forest both capture a natural landscape, The Garden of Adonis depicts an ancient city, Suite en duo is about the experience of travel, Ravel presents fleeting moments of life in Greece and the human experience such as the final movement’s portrait of a passionate youth in love. We invite our listeners to daydream with us as we go on a journey through the soundscapes of Australia, France, Japan, and ancient Greece, passing through realms both real and mythological.
