School group bookings and information for teachers:
Most of us have a treasured memory of a special trip to the Princess Theatre or Earl Arts Centre in our younger years. For many of us, those early theatre experiences led to a lifelong passion for performing arts. Theatre North is committed to nurturing children’s love of the arts. Through providing theatre experiences for young people we can help build their capacity to interpret, engage and empathise with the diverse and dynamic world around them. We welcome school groups to the theatre and we offer significantly reduced prices for school student groups.
Special school group packages are available for many of the shows in this brochure. School group prices are available for groups of any size. To access the special schools discount the booking must be made by the school and submitted on our Schools Booking Form (available from the box office or via email).
Unless otherwise stated, our 2023 school group prices are:
- $16 per student (1- 49 students)
- $12 per student (50+ students)
School group packages also include complimentary tickets for supervising teachers and discounted tickets for additional adult supervisors or parents booking with the group. Teaching resources and pre-show workshops are often also available as part of our school group packages. Our school group package information is sent to all schools, but if you are an educator who would like more information about our 2023 schools program we would love to hear from you.

Sharing the magic - our Kids Accessing Theatre partnership with Bell Bay Aluminium
Theatre North and Bell Bay Aluminium have teamed up to help hundreds of youngsters from the Tamar Valley region experience the magic of theatre through the KAT (Kids Accessing Theatre) Program.
Distance and associated travel costs make a trip to the theatre more challenging for out-of-town schools and thanks to Bell Bay Aluminium we can make it easier by covering the cost of their bus transport and offering subsidised tickets to selected shows in our Subscription Season.
Bell Bay Aluminium has not only renewed our partnership for the next 12 months, but has generously offered to extend the KAT Program, now enabling children from the Tamar Valley area to delight in a theatre experience with their families - the KAT Program will support family theatre trips as well as school groups.
